The Weather Outside is Frightful

It's cold. Very cold. Cold enough for me to seriously consider buying a second home in Florida. On top of low temperatures the searing winds slam you in the face leaving it completely immobile, then they reach down into your lungs and snatch the breath right out of you leaving you numb, breathless, and chilled to the bone! Did I paint that well enough for you? If you aren't shivering in your boots then I didn't give justice to the brutality. I'm just not prepared for this- I need wool socks. If my feet would keep warm it would be a whole different ballgame-maybe.

While I'm having a tough time dealing, my husband is a regular ol' John Wayne out there.

Putting out hay.

Breaking Water.

And tending to frozen, busted water lines.

Alas, running water!!!!

This past week he has more than impressed me with his patience and tenacity.

"Persistence prevails when all else fails."

I don't know anyone who works as  hard as he does, sacrificing meals, sleep  and warmth to tend to his animals. It makes me a little GaGa really :).

But the reason I fell in love with him, and the reason I've kept most of my sanity living 20 miles out on a dirt road for over a year now is this:

The man knows how to have a good time! He never lets me forget that he's "been bit worse by bedbugs down in Saltillo".
